Bridge to nowhere, vote conservative

Near Wadsworth and Bowles in Littleton, Colorado, a bridge was built over a crosswalk.

The bridge connects Southwest Plaza mall, with its huge parking lot to a huge parking lot of a strip mall that is largely abandoned, save a Staples and a few other stores.

This unused and poorly planned structure carries a price tag in the millions for tax payers. On Black Friday, some people finally used the bridge – to protest it.

Ha! That’s awesome. And it’s true — every time I drive by that bridge, I think something along the lines of, “Seriously?!”

  • Hate that bridge!

The new pedestrian bridge over Wadsworth Boulevard in Denver, CO. cost is $8.7 million, 80 percent of the project is funded by 2 federal grants & the other 20 percent is covered by the Jeffco half-cent sales tax fund. (Answered by http://www.chacha.com)

Along both sides of the pick u can see the ramps that are longer than the bridge itself going Northbound,, as if there is going to be a handicap convention at this intersection. Its a great long ramp to get some speed on yer skateboard ect.

I’m more curious why they built this bridge? It is near an intersection with a perfectly good cross walk, in addition the bridge is on the outside side of mall parking and the very far end of a dying shopping center. It is a bridge too no where, I walked on it just cause, had to go out of my way to get to it and use it….just baffles me to how this is a useful bridge! Makes me think of how this money could have been put be much better use, especially in these times. Just plain absurd, makes me not proud to be an American seeing how corrupt a city can be to keep there budget for next year!
